The US and the Afghan Taliban have made "significant progress" in talks aimed at ending the 17-year-old conflict in Afghanistan, the US envoy has said. In a series of tweets, Zalmay Khalilzad did not give details but said the unprecedented six days of talks in Qatar were "more productive than they have been in the past". He said he was on his way to Kabul to consult Afghan government officials. Earlier, Taliban sources said the two sides had finalised a draft agreement. The deal calls for a withdrawal of foreign forces in return for assurances that al-Qaeda and the Islamic State (IS) group will not be allowed to use Afghanistan as a base, the sources said. What Ronaldo said after scoring free kick show how humble he is
Cristiano Ronaldo is often described as 'self indulgent' and 'egotistical' but the Portugal captain has once again proved that he is far more concerned about his team than himself.
In his post match interview after scoring what may go down as one of the best hat-tricks in World Cup history, Ronaldo highlighted the efforts of his teammate in the 3-3 draw.
After what was a classic individual performance, you would expect anyone to comment about their individual performance, but Ronaldo focused on those around him.
"Above all we have to stress the efforts of the team. We fought until the end." he said.
If that isn't captain material then I don't know what is, to be honest. Even those who dislike Cristiano for whatever reason will have to admit that this is a classy response.
Cristiano Ronaldo was cool, calm and collected from the penalty spot to put Portugal ahead after just three minutes and he continued his heroics throughout the game.
He took to Twitter after the game, saying "Come on family!"
